We have about 3 months to finalise the downsizing, box things up and to get going!
March is just around the corner...
I know it's been a long time coming, but finally there is some certainty to our plans!
We have set a date! End of March 2018.
We are going travelling. One way or another. Its on.
We are feeling proud because it's been a bit "up in the air" as to when we would travel.
Both Ligia and I have been working and things haven't gone as planned with many things BUT... we are edging our way forward.
Lots to come very soon! :)
Its taken over a year.
Searches, contacting people, asking questions, and saving up...
But finally... it has happened!
We took a road trip to Nottingham after speaking to a nice chap on eBay, and bought his trike.
I call it Ligia's "beginner" trike... or "Training" trike. Something to get her use to the idea of recumbents...
It's all happening now!
This will be the last post in this format...
We have decided to take our blog in a new direction... correction, we have decided to GIVE our blog some direction.
Lots has happened, and its already JUNE.... my goodness... time flies.
But we have lots of good stuff going on, and will be updating the site, and adding lots of backlogged posts, pictures and other bits.
Bear with us... you're going to LOVE the what the next few months conjure reveal! :D
Daniel & Ligia
It is cold and wintery...
With so much "ummm" and "eerrrr" going on in our house, we had a cold hard look at our finances and our plans... What are we going to do long term?
I came to UK and looked for work. I have spent time looking and looking.
One plan was this: assuming I found work, I would go and work, while staying at a friends house or a member from church, cycle to work and save money, Ligia and kids would stay with her mum in Portugal, and we would see each other a few months later (or once every few months like we did when we were dating!)...
This idea was rejected by my wife and kids, so we had to look for alternatives.
Well, after much searching, and headaches, 3 things lined up...
- A job...
- a caravan for the right price...
- A caravan site that we could stay on long term near the job...
Yes, you read that right.... A caravan.
So instead of opting for a house, we bought, (rather "I bought" with my wife's blessing!) an ABI Marauder. In good condition for its age and one that came with lots of extras (water tank, tables, chairs etc.) I paid slightly more than I wanted to (Almost all our savings at the time), but out of the dozen vans we saw it was in the best condition, no leaks, or rot and nice amount of extras. She has been looked after!
Her name is Myrtle.
So I am back in UK...
Back and forth all the time I am!
After a bout with no work... I have been looking at future options...
We have sat and had a LONG talk about what to do for the future... there are limited options - we have tried to narrow them down so that we could pick one and just get on with it!
Much prayer and talking later, and I bought the plane ticket and flew over.
I updated my CV, send off a load of emails, and flew over...
Off to Swindon, Cheltenham, and wherever the wind may blow...
We are a Christian Home-Schooling, plant-food-based family, traveling and making the most of this life and sharing it with our 3 wonderful kids!
