Spiritual Inspiration
Spiritual items, and inspiration that keep us going....
Some things are just thoughts on a passage, others are a application of a passage, and other things are just questions for you to go away and ponder. Its not for debate or correction... just thoughts and pondering from another human mind. That is all... thanks...

This here is our main thought in the spiritual sense - and kind of the base for this blog!
We believe that there is more to life than the daily grind and this passage (for us) proves that. (plus all our personal experiences and occurrences in our lives)
When we stopped to look at life we did so with a broad eye including a scrutinising look at the Bible.
We searched for something that would show us that Life is to be lived to the full, and not in the common misery we find in and out of the church.
We believe we were put here to enjoy life, serve God, be humble, smile, laugh, run around, see new things, constantly learn and love the best we can...
It would seem the 9-5 daily grind doesn't teach that...

There are passages that jump out at me like this one.
In the context being spoken about, its talking about the Israelites, and it's a comparison about serving, and NOT serving God.
But what are these pleasures? and prosperity? Are they what we consider today? (millions in the bank, drinking, smoking, drugs and partying?) or were they something that in today's general society's eyes has lost value? (Family, love, community, growth and knowledge?) A question for you....

How hard is it sometimes to be strong? How often do you feel the weight of the world on your shoulders?
Yet the God of the Bible called us to be strong, and not dismayed... because HE is with us.
If you know that there is a greater power with you that cares and wants the best for you, and who will help you THROUGH tribulation and not from it, wouldnt you feel more secure?
How many of you with children have not had your child ask then to come up the dark stairs with them, or some other seemingly trivial task, but that to them they only feel safe having you near? I think there is a similarity here. God is assuring us that he is here with us.
Always.
No matter which church building we go to...
No matter where in the world you travel to...
No matter who you are...

Don't worry? This was a concept hard to get around. Too often young people are taught to pray in a very mechanical manner.
Instead this is telling us that in prayer we shouldn't sit and beg God for things. Rather we should let him know what we need, and thank him anyway.
Of course there will be those that their eyes light up and they will start their next prayer with: "Dear God thank you for the £1million check...
But that's not what this is on about. Its talking about Gods promises.
God's promises are His foundation in the Bible... and boy has he promised a lot. Some things have happened. Others are yet to happen.
We have had many personal experiences where God pulled us through something. So our belief is: if He did it then, he will do it again.
We do not believe that just because we call ourselves Christian and go to a church that we are automatically "exempt" from "life"... I just happen to think that we can make of it as we desire... So I do thank Him... even when it looks really gloomy... because I tell you what: it is better to be praying and thanking in a gloomy situation than whining and wishing!
