NOTE: We Keep this for posterity. This was the travels with the car... there is no car anymore! :)
Just playing around with Google maps getting a sense of the distances... We would travel 10 countries!
Lets see how much of this could come true.... leaving this up for posterity!
Going from my parents, across to Wales, up to Scotland then back down to Dover, ferry across to Calais.
Through France, 2 WWOOFs and down to Spain with one WWOOF, and into Portugal to see family and one WWOOF, then back up through Spain and France with one more WWOOF each, and then into Austria for a WWOOF and up to Denmark for another.
Then across the ferry to Sweden for 2 WWOOFs, and finally to Norway to the most northern WWOOF centre in the world.
Then the drive back to UK.
Ok, so re-evaluating the plan (1st of March), we are looking at a 4 stage tour, nearly 20 WWOOF stays, 2000+ miles travelled in UK alone, plus 2000+ miles in Europe... much more variety!
Stage 1: UK - up the left...
After leaving all our downsized belongings near my parents, and heading off, we head first to Lands end, doing 4 WWOOFs on the way.
We then head up to Wales, for our first Welsh WWOOF stop, followed shortly by the second.
UP the coast, and to Kendal, we then head to the Lake District, and stay a while as the next leg of our trip takes us up to Scotland.
In Scotland, we go to an Island WWOOF, the drive across to Aberdeen taking a leisurely camping route - with possible WWOOF along the way too.
When we get to Aberdeen we catch a Ferry to the Shetlands, for the longest WWOOF at a Wildlife park.
Then we head back to mainland via ferry to Aberdeen again.
From Aberdeen we start the 2nd leg of the trip.
Stage 2: UK down the right...
From Aberdeen we head down past Glasgow and Edingbrough to a WWOOF in Innerleithen, followed by a WWOOF in Mickleby.
We then follow a fast route to a WWOOF just outside Nottingham, then across to our WWOOF in Gresham.
From there we take a leisurely ride back to my parents for a rest break to see family and to restock as necessary.
Shortly after this, we head down to Dover and prepare for our European side of the trip.
Stage 3: Europe Part 1!
From Calais, we will go for a WWOOF near the coast, then the drive down to a place near Le Magnou, followed by a place on the French/Spanish Border.
Our next stay is along the Spanish coast, followed by our first stop in Portugal.
We make 6 WWOOF stops in Portugal, and end in Tavira - My wifes home town for some R&R for a couple of weeks.
Then begins the next leg of our tour...
Stage 4: Europe Part 2!
On our final stage, to return to UK (If we decide to come back!) :)we will go from Tavira down to Cadiz in Spain, then one of the longest road trips in the trip across to a little place near Valencia, then up toward Andorra.
Through to a WWOOF in France on our way to Geneva for a visit, through Switzerland, across to Graz in Austria, then on a WWOOF in Germany, crossing through Belgium on to Calais... back to UK...
We think... only time will tell if we do all this or more!
