A few weeks ago, Ligia bumped her head... We have been to the hospital, and been seen by a neurosurgeon. We had been waiting for the dreaded doctor's appointment that would determine our life for the next few months... After being "grounded" by a neurosurgeon, and being told that Ligia couldn't ride a bike... we thought it was the end of the world for us... seriously... we did. With all our plans... Anyway... Finally the day came for the appointment. With the same lady neurosurgeon. We were nervous. We had been preparing ourselves for the worst. The worst being Ligia needing surgery, shaving of her hair, and the resulting recovery, time, and adapting to life with a shunt etc... The neurosurgeon released the tension in the air by telling us straight away: "you don't need surgery". She went on to tell us that we could go travel and to basically IGNORE the condition!!!! The result is the video above... What a relief!

First: An apology...
Man, I need to get into the whole blogging my life thing better... We will never have a the greatest blog on earth otherwise!
So I am learning, and I will do it more... I have drafts... just need to publish and let my adoring public love my work... *Silence.... Crickets chirping.... tumbleweed rolls past....* or not... I have written a blog on my solo bike trip from UK to Portugal... I will make it live as soon as I have proofread and edited it... so bear with me... it is coming... However in this post I need to discuss some bad news, with a silver lining... So I have new features... testing them on my samsung. being able to blog right from my phone... hmmm no excuses then! Big posts coming up!! Daniel lego metropolis is growing!
Quick Update:Although this week has been my little (middle) boys birthday, and I wasn't able to be there, it has been a good week. Saw him on skype and sung happy birthday...
I am currently in UK and am preparing to cycle back to Portugal. Both because I don't agree with paying crazy amounts for a plane ticket, and because I want to test myself on a solo ride... So in a few days I set off.... and more details will follow! :) Keep an eye out! :) We have realized a need...
For this to all work... we need to modify the trailers and the bikes to better accommodate a crazy family like us... Not just to buy special parts (that's expensive!)... I mean, modify what we have. A friend of the family has offered his assistance as he likes metalwork... So it has begun! ... When you load up two bikes, two trailers , grab 2 adults, 3 kids and throw in 50km? An epic Cycle Camping Week ;)
Today I was asked to share my thoughts on Portugal in one of the Facebook groups I am part of. There is a family that wanted to visit. So I gave them my own run down of what I think of my home country...
